Will of Bernard Pitts Ayre


This is the last will and testament of me Bernard Pitts Ayre of St. John's Newfoundland a Lieutenant in the Norfolk Regiment of His Majesty's Army

1. I revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me.

2. I appoint my mother Lydia Gertrude Ayre and my uncle Charles Pascoe Ayre (hereinafter called "my trustees") to be the executors and trustees of this my will

3. I give to my cousin Gerald Walter Ayre the sum of two hundred pounds To my friend Roy Evans Bullen 2nd Battalion Kings Royal Rifles the sum of two hundred pounds To my friend Harold Mitchell the sum of One hundred pounds To the Laysian Mission City Road London E.C. the sum of Two hundred pounds And I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or Treasurer for the time being of the said Mission shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees in respect of such legacy To my brother Eric Stanley Ayre the sum of one hundred pounds which I desire him to accept as a present on his recent marriage and as a mark of my affection for him and in the event of my said brother predeceasing me then I give such sum to Janet Morrison Ayre the wife of my said brother

4 I declare that all legacies given by this my will or any codicil hereto are to be paid free of all legacy or other duties

5 I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my property of what nature or kind soever unto my trustees upon trust that they shall divide the same between my mother the said Lydia Gertrude Ayre and my brother Eric Stanley Ayre in equal shares or in case either of them shall predecease me then I give the whole of such residue to the survivor absolutely In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this tenth day of July one thousand nine hundred and fifteen Bernard Pitts Ayre.
