In re JAMES REDIGAN. DECEASED.In the name of God Amen I James Redigan of Saint Johnís in the Island of Newfoundland Yeoman do this twenty seventh day of November Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seventy six make and declare this my last will and testament in manner following: First I commit my soul to Almighty God hoping and believing in a remission of my sins and my body to the earth to be buried in a deceant manner and after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid my worldly estate and effects I give and bequeath as follows:
First I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Ann Redigan and my daughter Mary Ann Redigan the dwelling house and premises with the appurtenances situate on the Marsh in the town of Saint Johnís aforesaid and the rents issues and profits thereof to be divided between them share and share alike the said house and premises now in my possession and Richard Holahan And after the death of my said wife Mary Ann Redigan I give and bequeath the said dwelling house and premises to my said daughter Mary Ann Redigan during the term yet to come in the said premises for her sole use and benefit and independent of the control of any husband she may hereafter marry Also I give and bequeath to my son John Redigan after death of my said wife Mary Ann and to his assigns the north upstairs tenement of certain premises situate in the Marsh for the term yet to come in the same. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine wife of Henry Murphy now residing in the United States of America provided she comes and lives in Newfoundland the north downstairs tenement of the said premises situate in the March aforesaid for the term yet to come in said tenement the same not to be liable for the debts or subject to the control of her present husband or any husband she may hereafter have and in the event of my said daughter Catherine refusing to reside in Newfoundland then the said tenement I give to my said daughter Mary Ann during said term And finally all the rest of my said property both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever and not herein contained I do give and bequeath to my said wife Mary Ann and to my said daughter Mary Ann share and share alike, and I do hereby nominate and appoint Edward Norris and John J. Furlong executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former wills by me at any time heretofore made declaring this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal at Saint Johnís aforesaid the day and year first above set forth.
