Thomas Haddon Lawrence


This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Haddon Lawrence of St. Johnís, in the Island of Newfoundland, Wheelwright.

FIRST I revoke all former wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

SECOND I direct that my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be first paid out of my estate.

THIRD I appoint my sons Edwin and William to be Executors and Trustees of this my last Will and Testament.

FOURTH I give and bequeath my shares in Lawrence Brothers Limited to be divided equally between my sons Edwin and William absolutely on condition that they each pay a proportionate part of the death duties payable by my estate in the same proportion as the value of their individual legacies bear to the value of the whole estate.

FIFTH I give and bequeath my household furniture and effects to my daughter Annie absolutely.

SIXTH The residue of my estate I give and bequeath to my daughter Annie during her life or until she shall marry and upon the death or marriage of my said daughter Annie I direct that the residue shall be divided equally between my children, the children if any, of a deceased child taking their parents share.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF: I have hereunto set my hand at St. Johnís, aforesaid this 18th day of December A.D. 1923.
Signed by the Testator in the presence of us both being present at the same, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
