John Plowman deceased.
In the name of God Amen. I John Plowman Planter of Brigus in Conception Bay Newfoundland of sound mind and memory considering that all men are mortal and from a weak and afflicted state of body have reason to expect my mortality is not distant and being desirous all my temporal affairs as well for my own peace of mind as to obviate my difficulties which may arise hereafter my discease do make and ordain this as my my last will and testament that is to say First I give my soul to God who gave it in hope of a glorious immortality and my body to the dust and as for my wordly possessions I give and bequeath them in manner following as my fishing property is small, not sufficient to be divided amongst my children I give and bequeath to Philip Plowman my only son and his children after after him all that fishing room house gardens that I now enjoy and all my moving property that is to say cattle skiffs or boats that I now enjoy to hold in his possession from this day forward for ever except that spot of ground on which Patience Wilcox my daughters house stands with a small garden joining to it that I give and bequeath to John Wilcox her son I give and bequeath to my daughter Virtue that spot of ground on which her house stands as for my daughter Elizabeth Catherine and Mary & Susan I give and bequeath one shilling to each of them & I do hereby revoke and annul all my will or wills or dedy gifts or anything that do appear hereafter and I make this my last will sole & testament and appointing William Keating of Cupids as one of my executors & Willm Taylor the second. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of those undermentioned persons and we for our parts sign this in presence of the above John Plowman his X mark (LS) Wm. Keating, William Taylor, John Ledrow his X mark, Abraham Ledrow his X mark. Decem. 15th 1821. In the name of God Amen. this is to certify that I John Plowman do make this my last will & testament bearing date December 15th 1821.
