South side - Fort Amherst, and Magazine. Noon and evening guns are fired daily from Queen's Battery. Fort Amherst fires Fog Guns every hour from sunrise to sunset when necessary, as also two Guns for Vessels when in distress at sea. When practice is carried on by the Royal Artillery, a flat is hoisted at Fort Amherst.
