Notre Dame Bay Region ~ Fogo / Twillingate District

Civil Registration of Mulitdenominational Marriages, Fogo & Twillingate Districts.

1897 - 1898

The information was transcribed by JILL MARSHALL  While I have endeavored to be as correct as humanly possible, there may be typographical errors.

These records gave the religious affiliation of the marrying parties but not the affiliation of the minister who married them.
IMPORTANT
: amongst these records are many marriages which are now missing from church records; in particular, marriages of this time period performed at Twillingate by the Anglican Canon R. Temple were lost in a fire. Some of the Little Bay records may also have been lost in the Little Bay fire.

KEY: bach = bachelor; spin = spinster; wid. = widow/widower; RC = Roman Catholic; CE = Church of England; Meth = Methodist; SA = Salvation Army; Cong = Congregational; n/g = not given;
