Endnotes:

1 Jaco Omo here denotes Jacob Omo as mentioned in the list of Indian hunters from Bay Despoir. Note that detailed accounts for other NL MI'kmaw account holders from the Bay Depoir area, notably Michael Martin, Julien Killequire [Gregoire], Louis Christopher, Brunal Gaghou [Bernard Googoo], John Elly [Helie], Joseph Hadras [Andress], William Brunal [Beranrd / Pekitualuet], Louis Joseph, and Michel Algomatinuck (Newman Hunt & Co. 1790-1791:12) were nor provided. In all probability, the Omo (or Hobemouth/Abamou) patriline as listed in the Saint Pierre & Miquelon RC parish registers and the Newman Little Bay Ledgers, may be descended from the Negabamat/Neabamat (Tekwirmat) Montagnais-Abenaki patriline of Tadoussac and Sillery, Que.. This line in turn may be related to the Tecounemac (Telgumart-Algoumatique) line of Cape Sable. A connection to the Martin patriline presumably from Arguimeau-Algomartinip is also possible. Coincidentally, there is a Claude Tegoubemat enumerated in the 1708 Indian Census of Acadia. He is listed as residing at Mouscoudabouet (sic.) (Musquodaboit) in the 7th wigwam, next to Joseph Piguidaousret [Pekitualuet] residing in the 6th wigwam of said Indian settlement (1708 Census-Acadia, Public Archives of Canada. G.1 466-1). William Brunal (Bernard) as listed in the Newman Little Bay Ledgers may be a son or grandson of Bernard Joseph Pekitualuet (or Pikituaruet), who in turn was a son of Jeannot Pekitualuet, and grandson of Joseph Pekitualuet.

2 This is presumably the same Jean Baptiste Sekaquet as listed in SPMPR ca. 1790-1795, and possible progenitor of the NL Ktaqmkukewaw John patriline. An accurate literal translation and precise phonemic parsing of this patronym into analyzable constituent morphemes for analysis remain obscure at this moment. Other orthographic variants of this relatively rare family name include Chegan, Chegau, Chickarett, & Chigaguisht as listed in the 1726 Treaty of Peace, as wel as Chigaquet in the 1708 Census of Acadia. Other family names listed in the 1708 Census of Acadia that may be related to Sekaquet or Cigaquet include Chiquaguedes and Chequeroq.

3 Note that Waldron & Co. may be one of the smaller local merchant middleman suppliers or traders contracted with Newman & Co. of Little Bay to purchase furs or other supplies from local Mi`kmaq, in exchange for supplies and sundries.
