Home District was established in 1788 as Nassau District. In 1792 Nassau was renamed Home.
In 1798 Home District consisted of the counties of Durham, Northumberland, Simcoe and York, but by 1846 only York County remained. Home District was abolished in 1849.
"Population 224 in 1799, 7,230 in 1817 and 47,055 in 1833."3
Home District was located in South-Central Ontario.
