Membership

If you have research interests in the Quinte area or live in the area and enjoy interacting with other genealogists (many of our local members have interests worldwide), join with over 300 other branch members for:

  • four issues per year of The New Searchlight, our quarterly newsletter
  • four research queries per year in The New Searchlight
  • one hour per year of research
  • "Brick Wall Breakthrough", an exclusive service to help members overcome their genealogy roadblocks (see The New Searchlight, Vol. 2, No. 3 for details) **NEW**
  • nine branch meetings per year with guest speakers, fellowship, book tables and refreshments
  • annual Crouse-Wanamaker Lecture
  • sharing of information and research experiences with other members
  • an opportunity to volunteer and participate in a variety of interesting activities, including cemetery transcribing and indexing
  • membership card

Membership in the Quinte Branch is just $10.00 in addition to full membership in the Ontario Genealogical Society (currently $45.00, students $25.00). Family membership is also available--the branch fee of $10.00 covers all family members at the same address provided they are in the family category with OGS.

To become a member of the Quinte Branch and the OGS you can complete a  Membership Form online using the secure server at the Ontario Genealogical Society website or print a Membership Form and mail it with your membership fee.

Membership in the Ontario Genealogical Society:

  • includes four issues per year of Families, the quarterly journal and Newsleaf, the quarterly newsletter

  • allows the organization to carry on its work as our parent society which includes uniformity in our projects and publications, networking between branches and coordination of province-wide projects such as cemetery transcriptions

  • allows the society to continue to be an influence on government bodies concerning cemetery closures, preservation of records, and release of records for research.
