The Dr. Brearley Collection
Physicians in the Belleville Area before 1910 Database Updated July 2012
100 New Physicians added who graduated between 1900-1909
Compiled by Dr. Donald Brearley, this database (PDF File, 747kb), includes more than 500 character sketches of physicians in the Belleville area (roughly 45 mile radius) in Ontario who graduated before 1910. In 1985 Dr. Donald Brearley began compiling short character sketches of physicians as a centenary project celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Belleville General Hospital built in 1886 and updated in 2010. These are presented in a searchable PDF file which is organized by community and includes an alphabetical index to the physicians.
Mayors of the City of Belleville 1850-1955 Database
Compiled by Dr. Donald Brearley, this database (PDF File, 1337kb) includes 60 biographies of those who served as Mayors of Belleville between 1850 and 1955. Dr. Brearley gathered information about the capable and trustworthy mayors of Belleville over 25 years while compiling research for his pre-1900 Physicians project. This is presented in a searchable PDF file, arranged chronologically according to mayoral service and includes advertisements from 19th and 20th century directories and newspapers as well as an index of the mayors.
Dr. Brearley welcomes additional information for either of these databases; he can be contacted at don.brearley@bellnet.ca.

OGS Indexes Online
The Ontario Genealogical Society also maintains several databases on their website to assist genealogical researchers to locate resources, many of which are located in the research library of the Quinte Branch.

TONI (The Ontario Name Index)
TONI is a name index created with the eventual goal of indexing all the names of all the people who were ever recorded as spending time in Ontario. The index will then link a researcher to where the record(s) of a given name can be found. If the record is available through pay-per-view then the researcher will have instant access to the facts around that name.

Name Index to OGS Publications
To support the mission of the Ontario Genealogical Society to promote genealogical research, the OGS publishing division has developed an index to names contained in genealogy books published by the society. The following books are currently indexed in this database: "A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada Before Confederation, vol.1", "Index of Some Passengers who Emigrated to Canada Between 1817 & 1849" and "Index to the Upper Canada Land Books vol.2 - vol.9".

OGSPI (Ontario Genealogical Society Provincial Index)
OGSPI is a hypertext library established in 1997 as a volunteer project to index an unlimited range of genealogical information on Ontario families.

Ontario Cemetery Ancestors, Ontario Cemetery Locator, PPV General Index
Includes names taken from transcriptions of monumental inscriptions, a directory of cemeteries in Ontario, and sone non-book, non-name specific items available through the OGS Pay-Per-View site.
