Between 1890 & 1901 a group of settlers who had emigrated from Odessa Russia area on the Black Sea settled in this area where they formed a small Catholic Misson called Blumenfeld. In 1902 they established the St. Jacob Blumenfeld Cemetery. In 1903 they built a school directly south of this cemetery. Their first teacher G.V. Fehrenbach taught for one year then entered the seminary & was ordained in 1915. Catechism was taught in the school until 1906 when a beautiful church St. Wendelin was built directly south of the school & dedicated to St. Wendelin. It was later closed & the parishioners were assigned to Vibank, Odessa or Sedley. The list of people buried in this cemetery may or may not be complete. The spellings may not all be accurate. **by George Mildenberger

The priests of the time were: Rev. Van de Velde, Rev. A. J. Janssen, Rev. J. J. Schelbert

Note: The burials were listed by dates of death & I listed them alphabetically. The upkeep & maintenance of this cemetery has been faithfully done all these past years by Leo & Ken Mildenberger
