Webmaster note: An addition to the above partial transcription has been submitted:

·

My maternal grandfather—Bernhard Christian Andersen Gaare: his headstone reads: January 31, 1885 (although I’ve also heard that is birthdate was actually November 30, 1885) and he died on April 16th, 1941 (although I’ve also heard that is birthdate was actually November 30, 1885) and he died on April 16th, 1941
· My aunt (my mother’s sister) Helen Gaare August 31, 1919 – July 9, 1929 of diphtheria)
· My great-uncle (and older brother of my grandfather, Bernard) Martin Johan Gaare: July 7, 1872 – May 25, 1928

Bernard was married to my grandmother, Emma Johanna Gaare (nee Pedersen), both of whom immigrated from Norway. They had two children: my mother, Alice (born April 29, 1917) and my aunt Helen. As soon as I find the other details, I’ll email you again—thanks so much!

Norlayne Scott-Gaare
