Inez Louise Distad and Mabel Isabel Distad. Inez Louise Distad b. about 1902 in North Dakota, d.??, married Sivert Oulofe SUNDE. (Emma & Mike Distad also lived in Ravenscrag, Sasktachewan.) Inez and Sivert had one daughter Evelyn Sunde. | Marie | Maude Eleanor CUTLER who emigrated from England with Joseph Henry Franks MARTIN. They married in Prince George. I believe that they had two sons Terry and Harvey. |
| Lianne | My Grandparents Sidney and Emily CATT, m. 1905 in Kent, came to Canada in 1911 aboard the ship Lake Erie 1911/06/21. Arrived Quebec 1911/07/04. Sidney was 34, Emily 29. My father, Alan S. Catt was born in 1913 march, in Nanaimo. Therefore the Catt Sr. family didn't stay long in Calgary. My Dad had one brother, Ross Catt, who currently resides in Nanaimo. After retirement came back to his home. Ross was also born in Nanaimo but in 1923. My mom and dad, Alan Catt & Helene MOORE were married in 1935 in Nanaimo. Dad died in 1991, Mom in 2004. I have 1 sister Sharon Catt, and I am Lianne Catt, both born on Vancouver Island. My Uncle has 4 children, and they all live in Ontario. I am interested in more information about my family tree, and would like to get a picture of their time in Calgary, AB. which would've been the "old wild west" in those days. |
| Joyce | My Mother's cousin, Eder HARPER, emigrated from Lancashire England and settled in Fernie, BC. It is believed that he was born in Staffordshire. He was married and had sons and daughters. |
| Betty | My great-grandmother's brother, Edward CORKILL was the oldest child of Evan CORKILL who was born on the Isle of Man. Evan married in Liverpool, England, to a woman from Cumberland, England. They had 6 more children, born in both places. One died young. The 5 youngest became "British Home Children" and arrived in Nova Scotia in 1874. Edward CORKILL reportedly arrived in British Columbia in 1873 and remained in the Vancouver area. I have located two descendents of his two daughters but am hoping to find out if his son, Fred CORKILL had any children. |
| Maureen | For many years I have been researching a relative who settled in British Columbia and died there in 1919. Francis FARRANT (also k/a Frank). Born London 1873. He died in Vancouver in 1919 - a Coroner's Inquest shows that he was drowned in English Bay in suspicious circumstances. I have searched for his marriage - according to the Inquest Report, he had a French speaking wife but no children, with no success. Any help would be appreciated. |
| Eric | I am researching my great grandfather Isaac GANDY who moved from Widnes in Lancashire in about 1882 to Victoria BC, with brother Charles. I have not been able to find any details of their emigration to Canada. (see also Immigrant Families page) |
| Margaret | I am trying to trace Kathleen Lavinia Crayton
THOMPSON who was born on 3 April 1890 at
6 Hampshire Steet, Southsea, Hampshire and who migrated to Canada maybe in the early 1900's. Her step sister Lilian EVANS nee JENKINS was my grandmother. I remember seeing a postcard sent from Toronto from Kathleen to my Grandmother many years ago. Would love to find the family of this lady. |
| Alison | Two of my Uncles Donald George WHITE and Henry Carley WHITE arrived in Canada in 1925. Their port of arrival was Montreal, Quebec. My family tree web site is located at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alison/ and I would love to be able to add the information on these relatives. I do not know their final destination in Canada so any help would be very much appreciated. |
