History: This bible was presented to David BEATH at Arnot Mill by
his Uncle David BEATH (late of the excise) in 1857, then presented
again to David BEATH, Vancouver, by his Father, Farmer, Balleave,
Kinross in 1911. It was then passed to David's son, Charles David
BEATH, my grandfather, and I will be passing it to my cousin who
carries the BEATH name.

Catherine OLIPHANT above referred to was a
daughter of Alexr OLIPHANT of the house of Gask and a cousin of
Caroline OLIPHANT or Lady Nairn the famous song writer. being Jacobites
he fled during the 45 rising and became Factor to the then Earl of
Minto at Lochgelly latterly settling down at Portmoak. The Nairn title
is now held by the Marquis of Lansdowne
