Solano
County derives its name primarily from a member of the Suisun tribe
who was born in Suisun Valley with the Indian name "Sina"
and given the Christian name Francisco Solano at his baptism in Mission
Dolores in 1810. He was given the title "Chief Solano" in
his service under General Mariano Vallejo in the 1830s at Sonoma Pueblo.
