The Naturalization Records located at the Solano County Archives date from the early 1850's to the 1940's and indexes to the 1960's. Documents included in this group of records consist of the following:

Applications and Oaths of Allegiance
Declarations of Intent
Petitions Granted, Denied, or Transfered
Decrees Admitting Citizenship
Certificates of Citizenship
Court Orders
Naturalizations Granted to Persons in the Armed Services

In the latter half of the Nineteenth Century the records contained little more than the name of emigrant, country from which he came, date the record was made, and names of witnesses. Around 1900 and thereafter, documents give many more details about place of origin, emigration information, names of family members, and sometimes even a photograph.
