The names in the database appear on the War Memorials which stand proudly in front of the Old Solano Courthouse on Texas Street in Fairfield, California. The names of the service members listed are those who joined the US Armed Forces having a Solano County address. These heroes made the supreme sacrifice of their lives defending our nation during a war time period. The names were researched and obtained by Edna C. Barnes while she was the Director of Veterans Services Offices of Solano County. The small committee of veterans and Barnes, also a veteran, raised $35,000 by donations to construct these Memorials dedicated on May 30, 1992.
