For more than 26 years BIGRA offered the San Diego genealogical community lectures, classes, seminars and other educational programs with particular interest in English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish research. They fulfilled the vital need for teaching the special research skills needed for British Isles research. The same services and education are now offered by the British Isles Group, a committee of the San Diego Genealogical Society.

The British Isles Group of the San Diego Genealogical Society, BIG, chaired by Marilyn Hoffman, offers special interest group meetings at the San Diego Regional Family History Center, 4195 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, where there is also a British Isles section with specialized research material, all of which are available to SDGS members.
