Mr. Bockstruck
began his career as a librarian in 1971 and joined the
Dallas Public Library in 1973 where he has become distinguished as a
genealogical librarian and writer.
The newly retired genealogy librarian at the Dallas Public Library has
authored numerous books and articles that have appeared in professional
library and genealogical publications.
Until this year, he had written
the Dallas Morning News Family Tree column, beginning in June 1991.
Mr. Bockstruck is
a member of more than 50 lineage and heritage societies, and has
received several awards and commendations for his library and
genealogical accomplishments.
The
NGS Quarterly wrote: "The name Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck is
synonymous with modern genealogical education. His dry wit, wide range
of subject matter, and fail-proof knack of imparting exactly the kind
of information his audiences need, all combine to guarantee a full
house
at his lectures and seminars.....".
