Indiana

South Bend — South
Bend Tribune. Barbara Harman
authors the Michiana Roots genealogy column that appears weekly
on the History page in the Sunday Punch Section of this newspaper. She
also writes the News and Notes column about area genealogical
events and meets. It runs on the Sunday History page also. The South
Bend Tribune coverage area includes the northern Indiana counties of
St. Joseph County, including the University of Notre Dame, Elkhart,
LaPorte, and portions of Starke, Marshall, Lagrange, and Kosciusko
counties and the lower Michigan counties of Berrien, Cass, Van Buren,
and St. Joseph. The column focuses on local and national genealogical
seminars and events, education, and general feature stories of
genealogical and historical interest in the coverage area. Past columns
are available for viewing. Access the
library or archives page and type in a keyword or author's name with
a date to access the column. Queries are not accepted for print. Harm

Louisiana

Hammond —
The Sunday Star.
(Sunday edition of the Daily Star). A column in two
parts — "Relatively Yours" and "Tangi Ancestry Lost & Found," by
Phyllis Edwards (under the
pen name of Mizzee) is published in the Sunday Star. The
first part is educational and the second part, called Tangi Ancestry
Lost & Found, contains queries posted by those searching for their
ancestors in the Tangipahoa area of Louisiana (also called the Florida
Parishes). The column also appears in the following Louisiana
newspapers:
Amite Tangi Digest; Kentwood Ledger, and
the St. Helen Echo (located in Greensburg).

Crisman Smith appeared twice a month in all editions of the weekly
suburban Cleveland newspaper from 2001-2003. The articles focused on
tips and techniques for family research at all skill levels, reviews of
helpful resources (both new and established), and announcement of
upcoming genealogical events at the local, state and national level. |
