| The expense of a
booth at a genealogical conference is generally not an option, but the exposure and
potential for sales is tempting. For the NGS
and FGS conferences, ISFHWE will offer members an opportunity to have the best of both
worlds. Heres how it will work: |
|
-
A member may
submit one book for inclusion in the ISFHWE Member Promotion Project at each conference. The member must be listed as an author, editor or
publisher of the book. To participate, the member must provide the following: |
-
One complimentary
copy of the book to be promoted must be provided. This
copy will ultimately be donated to a genealogical repository specified by the
conference/host society and ISFHWE. A book plate will be
placed in each, including ISFHWE and the member donors name. |
-
A fee payable to
ISFHWE equivalent to the selling price of the book. This
will offset expenses incurred by ISFHWE for the promotion project. |
-
A completed form
which includes all the information to order the book, emailed to the designated
coordinator. |
-
If you wish to
have an image of the book included in the catalog, include a TIFF or BMP file. |
|
-
SUBMISSION FORMS
MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE TO ALLOW TIME TO PRODUCE A CATALOG. |
At the conference,
all books submitted by ISFHWE members for the Promotion Project will be displayed in the
ISFHWE booth, along with copies of the catalog containing the specific ordering
instructions for all the books. The booth
personnel will encourage passersby to take a copy of the catalog if they are interested in
any of the books to place an order directly. |
| ISFHWE will NOT be
involved in the selling of the books.
Following the conference the catalog will be placed
on both the ISFHWE public and members-only web sites as a pdf. file for downloading by
anyone who missed the conference. |
