Melanie D. Crain is the editor of two publications: The Dalton Gang Letters and The Trading Path.  Both combine history and genealogy and place strong emphasis on documentation.  The Dalton Gang Letters is a monthly family e-newsletter, which has collected and shared data for the past 10 years with a mailing list of more than 500 people.  It is supported by a webpage:  http://www.dalton-newsletter.com. 
The Trading Path is the biannual journal of the Durham-Orange Genealogical Society in North Carolina.  Its focus is both the history of the area and the history of its families.
