Her obituary was found in a collection of undated newspaper clippings at the public library in Keosauqua, Iowa:
OBITUARY
Once more the golden bowl is broken, and the silver cord is loosed; but safe in the Father's house, in a mansion, built beautifully from holy living, the subject of our sketch has realized the blessed reward for the faithful.
Rhoda Ann, daughter of John and Eliza Baird, was born in Des Moines township, near Keosauqua, Iowa, April 30, 1843; spending her entire life in that community, and passed peacefully away at the home of her son John Thursday, Jan. 24, 1918, having attained the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 24 days.
On Feb. 21, 1865, she was united in marriage to Chas. Hull, who preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1915. To this union three children were born, John H., George A., and Selena J. Loring, all of whom were at her bedside. Beside [sic] her immediate family left to mourn her death, she leaves 6 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, and many other relatives and friends.
From her obituary. Cemetery records imply a date of 30 apr 1844.
DAR marriage transcripts. However, obituary of Rhoda Baird Hull says 21 feb 1865.

Given name is illegible in her father's pension application file. Sometimes transcribed as Calley. Could the intended name have been Sally? She is listed as Sarah in the account of Fermine Baird Catchings, with impossible birth date of 1886 (obvious typographical error), and that account makes her the wife of Mr. Eddy. We give the children based on locating such a family in Morris Co. on the 1850 census.
Source is bible leaf included by Mary Bockoven Baird in her pension app. #W-27877 Rev., name is difficult to read. Could be Catherine, Calley, or Cathey.

Supposed to have been a Captain and Major in the Somerset Co. militia during the Revolutionary War, though he would have been quite old for such duty. His will dated August, 1789 shows that by that date he was already in Pine Creek, Northumberland Co., PA, so he cannot be the same William who resided in Bernard's Township, Somerset Co., NJ at that time.

Evidently the William Baird who lived near Basking Ridge in Somerset Co., NJ at the time of the Revolutionary War. He was among the pew holders at the Presbyterian Church there. That he died in Morris Co., NJ seems to echo statements in John Baird's Revolutionary War pension file to the effect that John Baird first lived in Somerset Co., near the Morris Co. line, then later moved into Morris Co. after the war, apparently in the Long Hill area. Note that William's other sons were too young for the Revolution.
We believe the family story among the descendants of William's children in North Carolina should be regarded as valid; namely, that his son John was the only member of the family who remained behind in New Jersey. Further, we regard the contrary account of a John Baird who later settled in North Carolina (and sometimes attached to this family) as apocryphal or else pertaining to a different man. Among other problems, we see no evidence that the John Baird in North Carolina was actually born in 1760 or had any connection other than proximity to the other children of William. Consequently, we see no impediment in conjecturing that William's son John is in fact the John Baird born in 1760 who married Mary Bockoven and remained in Somerset and Morris Counties, NJ.
Date from Fermine Baird Catchings, but it is not clear where it came from. Evidently it is a family tradition, for Mrs. Catchings also quotes "tradition" that the marriage took place in Delaware.
