It is possible, though not proven, that he is the same man who was the father of the Esther DuCrest who married Thomas Dutoit 16 apr 1637 at Moudon.
Where are the children born 1637-1647? There should be several! She remarried to Jaques Tavernay of Chardonne, as suggested by a record of Pierre Gavin, notary at Moudon, 16 nov 1661, which indicates that Tavernay was the "beau-père" of the children of the late Thomas Dutoit. There are a number of similar citations.

An inventory of the communal archives of Crissier includes mention of a Lettre de Bourgeoisie for Thivent Ducrest dated 1595, signed by the notary Philibert Musy. The registers of this notary have not survived, apparently, and we do not know what information about the origins of the family is included in this document.
The "assignal" acknowledging receipt of dowry by Bastian Cousin of St. Bartholomé for his wife Jeanne daughter of the late Thievent DuCrest of Crissier, consisting of 250 florins and various personal effects, dated 06 jun 1641 (Pierre Perrochon, notary at Chesaux, ACV DG 193/1 fol. 76) probably refers to one of his daughters, but we have not yet determined who her mother was.

He was bailli at Gessenay and Yverdon, and served on various missions from Their Excellencies of Bern.
He purchased the Château de Montagny at Lutry, probably from the heirs of Niklaus Gatschet the younger. This property became part of the dowry of Suzanna Dübi in her marriage to Daniel Gatschet in 1647. The archives of Cully report a document (5 E 233) in which Elizabeth "Pachet" and her children sell "le vieux château de Montagny" to Jean Rodolphe Düby, 11 sep 1639. Since Montagny is known to have been in the hands of the Augsburger family in the 16th Century, it seems most likely that it next belonged to Niklaus Gatschet by virtue of his marriage in 1599 to Anna Augsburger. We surmise that it remained with the heirs of Niklaus until it was sold by his daughter Elizabeth in 1639, and that her name has been transcribed in error in the inventory of the archives of Cully. If this hypothesis is correct, an examination of the records of Cully and Lutry might be worthwhile.

In 1850, Charles Duel, probably brother of Sarah, was living with this family, also Elizabeth, likely a sister. Cemetery record transcript (possibly from records other than the tombstone) gives name as Sarah Duell Baker, no explanation for this.

Originally from the Languedoc in France, he was a captain in the Royal American regiment 1757-1761, then moved to Moudon where he acquired citizenship 13 aug 1761.
Surname appears once in the registers at Payerne as DuFlion (as a witness at a baptism), the only mention so far besides the actual marriage record, which gives DuFlon.
