She abjured from the protestant religion at the catholic church of La Mure on 28 sep 1685, along with Justine Vulson de la Colombière, wife of Abraham des Eustache (actually Alexandre Eustache, who married Justine Vulson), and Marie Leger, wife of Louis Genevois.
There is considerable confusion about the wives of Christopher Myers Bryant. The name Mayfield comes from family records of uncertain origin. The death certificate (transcript obtained in 2001) of William Cleaster Bryant, d. 1917, gives his mother's name as Mayfose. We see two possibilities: either Melinda Beard was actually a widow whose maiden name was Mayfield, Mayrose, etc., or else she was Christopher's second wife and not the mother of the earliest children, including William.
Marriage record calls him the son of Discret Pierre Mayor of Ballens. No other record is known.
