Records of Benoit Nible, notary at Payerne, contain many valuable references. Marguerite was his second wife, and it was her second marriage as well. Her parentage is mentioned in several places, and on 06 apr 1587 she sold her half interest in a woodlot owned jointly with André Fyvaz for the heirs of Claude Banquettaz (among them Tobie Banquettaz). The marriage settlement of 26 mar 1587 (Jaques Girod, notary) notes her first husband and also that she had an inheritance from Noble Jaques Valluz.
Benoit Nible was remarkable not only for his voluminous records, but also for his connections to the notable families of Payerne. The marriages of his daughters and other relatives linked many of the elite families, and documented them in a way unmatched by the records of any other notary.
Assuming he was at least 25 by the time his first surviving notarial documents were recorded in 1547.
Died before the birth of his son Isaye, who was baptised 08 aug 1589.

Some of the information we found in secondary sources may be questionable. The baptism at Moudon 26 apr 1726 of Abraham David Daniel, son of Spectable Johannes Nicaty, minister and bourgeois de Moudon, and of Jeanne Marie Mestresat, would seem to be a son of his, but the name of the mother is not quite right (secondary sources say she was Marianne, not Jeanne Marie), and besides, the minister Abraham Nicaty is supposed to have married a second wife Anne Marie Perrot, of Neuchâtel, in 1723. Is the baptismal record simply wrong, as to the names of the parents?
