The entry in the Saint Nicholas, Register of Baptisms, Volume 10, 1796-1810, page 251, reads:" Aberdeen, 16th July 1806, Peter Cheyne, Weaver, & his Spouse Elspet Cafsie had a son born named William, baptized by the Rev'd Dr. Patoun, in presence of Robert Brown, Weaver, & John Mathews, Wright, in Abd'n".2,3
