The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of New Deer, 1727-1819, Page 60, "Jan'y 8th (1758) Alexander Cheyn (823) in Stonnyfold had a Son brought forth by his wife Elizabeth Baxter (1221) baptized named William (1222) Witnefses William Low & John Hall in Upper Burrack.”.1 He was the son of Alexander Cheyne and Elizabeth Baxter.
