Clifton,
my husband's great grandmother. She was b.
in 1859, m. James Henry Bookout, and had
a son, Thomas William Bookout, a few months
after James was killed in a railroad accident
in Texas. Thomas was b. in Reno, Parker CO,
TX in Sept. 1888. I thing that Mary's family
must have lived there, since James was from TN.

name "ATTERSON" was originally "AUTERSON". I am researching ATTERSON,
AUTERSON, AUTTERSON, & OTTERSON families from North Carolina, Tennessee,
Kentucky, Indiana, Arkansas, & Oklahoma. My Great Grandfather, John
Benjamin AUTERSON's older brother William J. AUTERSON's older son, Henry
Franklin {born: March 2, 1861, Fentress County, Tennessee} married Mary
Ann CLIFTON about 1881. According to Henry's Ponca City, Oklahoma
obituary {1946}, he married Mary Ann in Bentonville, Benton County,
Arkansas. According to several census' I have, her parents came from
either Alabama or Louisiana. Any clues as to her parents were? I found
out through family Mary married a man by the name of William Robinson
before she married Henry AUTERSON. I believe William and Mary lived in
the Franklin or Johnson County, Arkansas area. He owed a gris mill and
Henry worked for them. William died and Henry married Mary soon
afterward.

[CLIFTON?]was widow of John TERREL who d. Henry County GA 1828/29. She
may have been daughter of or otherwise related to Absalom CLIFTON of NC.
The two boys listed last in the will of John TERREL were John and
Absalom.
I am descended from John TERREL via Absalom. I am looking for proof that
Marian was a CLIFTON and her ancestry.

out to South Africa during the 1890's
as an engineer, Bridge-building and Railway
line laying.Just from which city in
England he came from, I am yet to discover.

researching Wiley L. Clifton born on June 30,1904 in Cincinatti Ohio.
Any information on my grandfather would be helpful.
I am trying to help my son. W. clifton died in 1967 and I think there is
a brother out there somewhere in Ohio. I also know that my
grandfather was put in a orphanage when his father got remarried. He
left the orphanage
in 1902 to join the navy. We are just starting this search but we don't
have a lot of time. Thanks

Need to find Silas's parents names. Sister named Mary J. Mitchell. Only
