I am seeking information regarding CHARLES SPAULDING THOMAS. Thomas was Governor of Colorado (1899-01) and a U.S. Senator from Colorado (1913- 21). He was born 12/6/1849 in Darien, Georgia, lived in Denver (I'm not sure which county -- Adams, Arapaphoe, Denver, or Jefferson) and died 6/24/1934 in Denver. Thanks!

OSTRANDER, Peter Shenandoah was in Arapahoe County when it was still part of Nebraska Territory! He and his 4 children moved to Georgetown Colorado. He came from McHenry County Illinois in 1859. Peter's son, Othello, established Bakery in Louisville in 1900.Looking for descendants of this Ostrander family. His wife was Catherine REED, and his nephew was Daniel N. Arapohoe County query. Huffman--My grandfather William Ralph Huffman lived around the Englewood, Colorado area. He died on March 28, 1968. His second wife was named Elizabeth. He had a daughter that he adopted that I think was named Sandra. He had two brothers Rex and Willard. I think Willard may have lived in the Englewood area also. He had a sister, Marguarite Swafford. Henry was a sawmill owner in Wideawake, a shoe store owner in Denver, a prospector and shoe store owner in Leadville. I am interested in early formation of Denver. Our family history has been that my GGrandfather R. L. Simpson was one of the party that surveyed the layout before Denver was a town. He later was believed to be associated with E. H. Clark in Ft. Calhoun, NE. E. H. Clark was hired to survey that town in about 1855. Do you know of a possible resource for this information? Geil

Looking for information on the EVANS and LYONS families that were in Arapahoe, Jefferson, and Adams Counties. Specifically, I am seeking a lady named Agnes EVANS. She is my grandmother. All that I know about her is that she died in Denver Colorado in the 1950s and was about 100 years old and her family was supposed to be involved in politics. I am seeking to find the marriage of my parents Ray Santellano and Roxie Lena Sizemore. They may have been married about 1920-1921. I was born at Ideal,CO (near Walsenburg), Huerfano County, Sept 18, 1922. They may have been married in one of three counties: Arapahoe, Huerfano, or Pueblo. My name is different now, although I was born as Ray Santellano, because my parents moved to CA when I was 18 months old. They changed their name to Snider. All my school, military, other records have been under Snider from said time.

Looking for info about Thomas James Burke and wife Maggie/Margaret Burningham who are said to have married in Georgetown, Clear Creek county about 1879/1880. He was a miner and later became a co-partner in the Hubert mine and co-owner of the Hubert Milling Co. Thomas owned real estate in Clear Creek County, Gilpin County, and in Arapahoe County. Am specifically looking for verification of his marriage date but would be interested in any info. Also looking for Maggies death date which would be prior to 1888 but after 1885. Am also trying to locate names of Maggies parents--we know she had a sister Kate who was living with her and Thomas at the time of the 1880 census. Thomas died Feb. 28, 1898 in California on a business trip and was sent back to Denver for burial. Any and all information on these two lines will be greatly appreciated.

In the 1880 census for El Paso Co., CO, I found my relative - Julien GAMMON, with his wife Roxie A. Green, and their son, Eugene. What relationship, if any, is Robert GAMMON to Julien? I am searching for information on the WAIR family that resided in the Denver CO. area from the early part of the 1900's and there may be some there to date. The information that I have is that Vestal WAIR and wife Linda lived in the Denver area and had three chilren. They were Ruby WAIR who married a PUETT, Bessie WAIR who married and KING and a son BERT WAIR. Vestal WAIR had a brother Andrew WAIR who lived in the Denver, Co. area and he died about 1960. He was a lawyer in Denver CO. We do not know if he had any famiy. Any help that you can be with this family would be so much appreciated. We would love to find members of Ruby, Bessie and Bert's families if anyone knows anything about them. Thank you so much.
