Littleton, Colorado is served by the Littleton Public School District which was formed in 1864 to serve the 135 school-aged children living in the area.  The first school building was a log cabin which was built during late 1865-early 1866 for a cost of $65.00.

The District presently serves the majority of the City of Littleton as well as Columbine Valley and portions of Bow Mar, Centennial, Greenwood Village, and Englewood.  The district currently serves 16,354 students at 28 facilities.

A wonderfully detailed history of the District can be found at http://www.littletonpublicschools.net/.  This site also provides information on enrollment demographics, district awards and honors, contact information for the district offices as well as individual schools, and a wealth of additional information about the district and its facilities.
