DEATH REMOVES AN OLD RESIDENT
Mrs. Rachel Nathan Came To Denver Forty-Four Years Ago and Had
Since Lived at 1446 Larimer Street.
Mrs. Rachel Nathan, 78 years old, who has lived in Denver for more than forty-four years died at her home, 1446 Larimer Street, yesterday afternoon of old age and incidental infirmities.
Mrs. Nathan was born in Germany and came to Denver in the spring of 1860. Her husband, Solomon Nathan, who died in 1884, was for many years a merchant on Larimer Street.
Mrs. Nathan was distinctively a pioneer of Denver. For more than forty-three years she held the deed to the property at 1446 Larimer St., where she resided during her life in this city. When she and her husband settled there, they were located in the very heart of what was then infant Denver.
Mrs. Nathan is survived by five sons, Nathan, Abram and Louis of Denver, Isaac of Los Angeles and Edward of Pueblo. No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral.

Miss Nichols Dead; East Denver High Graduate, '05 Class
Miss Theresa Nichols, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Nichols, residents of the North side, and a graduate of the East Denver High School, of the class of 1905, died last week at Grand Junction. The funeral took place in Denver, with interment in Fairmount Cemetery.
After completing her high school course, Miss Nichols taught school at Walsenburg and Monte Vista.

Mrs. Rosie Notary, Long Time Resident of Denver, Is Dead
Mrs. Rosie Notary, a resident of Denver for thirty years and one of the most prominent women, socially, in the Italian quarter, died yesterday at her home, 3357 Navajo Street, after an illness of six months from cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Notary was operated on at St. Joseph's Hospital on June 13, but relief was only temporary.
She was a social leader in the Italian section and was known as the “belle of Little Italy.” She was a member of several societies and secret organizations and was widely known for her works of charity. She was 41 years old. She came to Denver from Italy when 11 years old and at 15 years of age she married M. Notary, a prominent Italian banker and wholesale liquor dealer.
Five children and a husband survive. The children are Mrs. Elizabeth Conda, Mrs. Millie Morelli, Erichetia, Frank and Tony Notary, the latter of whom is well known among amateur baseball fans. She is survived also by her mother, two brothers, Nick and Frank Morrato, and two sisters, Mary Guelrieri and Elizabeth Morrato.
