James Walker Ogston

James Walker Ogston, born in Manilla, Canada, April 18, 1861; died at his residence, 2836 Champa Street, Denver, Colorado, of pneumonia, Dec 12, 1911. Funeral services were held at the residence Dec 15, 1911; the services being conducted by the Rev. Dr. R. F. Coyle of the Central Presbyterian Church. Remains were then taken in charge by the Knights of The Golden Eagle, of which the deceased was a past grand chief. The interment was made in Fairmount Cemetery.

The deceased was an entered apprentice in Denver Lodge No. 5, A. F. & A. M.; also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Arapahoe Lodge No. 3, and the Fraternal Union of America.

He came to the United States early in life and entered the railroad service, having been connected with the Santa Fe for a number of years, and for the past ten years was chief clerk to freight claim agent of the Denver & Rio Grande R. R.; was also on the advisory board and assistant secretary of the German-American Indemnity Company.
