On February 20th, 2003 we were treated to a presentation on the General Iron Works facility.  We were treated to a short history of the facility by Jerry Slack, followed by pictorial presentation by Jane Godany and Jeff Powers.

The City of Englewood, Cultural Arts Commission sought to acquire photographic art to be displayed in The City Hall in accordance with the City's Art in Public Places program. The goal was to produce large, color, graphic images of the General Iron Works site before demolition for redevelopment. The images were to be works of art emphasizing color and composition, not documentary photographs. Images could be abstract and nonrepresentational. After the original jurying of applicants for the commission, two photographers Jane Godany and Jeff Powers were chosen to produce 30 high quality images, each. The Cultural Arts Commission Selection Committee selected 5 images from each photographer. The Photos were printed in a large format digital process framed and hung in conference rooms, hallways and reception areas on the third floor of the Englewood Civic Center as a tribute to the residence that were employed there.

This meeting was done in conjunction with the Englewood Cultural Arts Commission.
