Hinsdale County Clerk & Recorder Hinsdale County Courthouse, P. O. Box 9, Lake City, CO 81235	Hinsdale County was carved out of Lake, Costilla and Conejos Counties in 1874. The Clerk & Recorder has birth records from 1900 forward, marriage records from 1880, death, burial, divorce and land records. The Clerk of the District Court has probate and civil court records.
Hinsdale County Historical Society 130 Silver Street, P. O. Box 353, Lake City, CO 81235	Hinsdale County has a great museum and a numbers of records and books for sale. See web site at www.lakecitymuseum.com which also contains some genealogical information.
Census Records	Federal Census records are available from 1880 forward. The State of Colorado did an 1885 census.
