Kia Orana. Greetings from the Cook Islands! The Cook Islands has more than 18,000 people spread over 8 islands in the North and 7 islands in the South. Located in the South Pacific, our closest neighbours are Western Samoa and Tahiti (Papeete). Our northern Cook Island atolls are Manihiki, Nassau, Penrhyn, Pukapuka, Rakahanga and Suwarrow. The northern Cooks are the tips of the mountains of Hawai'ki, our motherland. |
The southern Cook Islands include Aitutaki, Atiu, Mangaia, Manuae, Mauke, Mitiaro, Palmerston and Rarotonga (the largest). Our capital is in Avarua, Rarotonga, Cook Islands and our climate is tropical. |
