Photo of a spectacular Longmont sunrise by Eldon Mickelson was taken at 7:08 a.m. on Tuesday Jan 3rd 2012 from in front of his home west Longmont. "I was shuffling out to get the newspaper about half asleep, when I noticed that the ground, street, trees and everything had a pretty reddish, pink cast.  I looked up at the eastern sky to see the most beautiful sunrise I’ve seen in many, many years.  By then wide awake I raced back to the house to get my camera.  I only had time to get about 20 shots before the sun broke the eastern horizon and spoiled the orange colors which appear in the lower part of the picture.  I was lucky that this was one of the images I captured." And we're lucky to have him share it with us. With beautiful scenes like this - it is no wonder we love living in Longmont!
