Our collection of over 2000 titles covers all the states.  It features an extensive section for Montrose County.  It includes historic Montrose newspapers: 1899-1939; original courthouse, land and probate records; books and pamphlets; and surname and subject files.  We are beginning to add historical and genealogical materials for the 10 county region:  Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, La Plata, Mesa, Montezuma, Ouray, San Juan, and San Miguel counties.

The center has a microfilm reader and several computers with hi-speed wifi internet access.

Use of all resources is free.

Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical Society was organized in March 1981 and incorporated January 1982.  Our purpose is to promote interest in genealogical research, to share knowledge and resources, to locate and preserve records, and to assist in the expansion of genealogical materials in the Montrose area.  Our society is a member of the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies.
