hours at the 'ole day job (as in 12-16 hours a day - eek!)
Anyway, that project is about wrapped up, and hopefully will get
some more updates for you.
- Forekin Trails has been busy and has submitted many
cemetery transcriptions - or updated transcriptions for several of
the cemeteries in Montrose County. Check the archive pages for
the most current list.
- Did you know you can submit a single Biography, Obit, marriage
record or whatever you might have (for non-living persons please)

- Many of you know I live in Houston, TX. In case you were
wondering, we are safe and sound, having evacuated to my
daughter's home in San Antonio for the duration during Hurricane
Rita. We are now back home, and I'm trying to get caught up on
my email.
- Updated lots of cemetery records! Thanks to Zilla May

- The long-awaited Colorado Marriage Index is finished and
will be released at the Colorado Genealogy Society monthly meeting
on 17 September! This is a "must have" for every Colorado
researcher, indexing nearly every Colorado marriage from 1858
through 1939 -- over 912,000 entries. It will be available at
society meetings and by mail order for just $10. Here is a
flyer with more information and an order form.
Note: I have this CD, and can do lookups.(Betty)
June 2004
- Revamped the website, updated links, changed the menu structure.
Hope the website is easier to use now! Some of the pages have
moved, so you might want to check your bookmarks, or change them to
the home page. Re-indexed the web site which now includes the
archived pages. This added over 50 pages to your search
results.
May 2004
- Started the OBITS section.
These are for the earlier obits, send one or several of your
ancestors, and we'll get it added.

- OK, we finally finished our move to Houston, and I'm finally
getting caught up with the backlog that piled up. My apologies
to anyone if I have overlooked your request. Please send me
another email, and I'll take care of it. (First week of November
!!! yeah - right! )
Finished
the Bela Reckmeyer Looking Back
section. Wonderful photos from 1912-1920 of the Montrose area.
Maybe you can identify some of the pictures from Montrose High School.
October 2003
- OK, it looks like I haven't been adding anything, mostly I have
just not updated this page. Look for Bela Reckmeyer in
the Looking Back section.
While it's actually listed under Delta County, there is a lot of
gentlemen from Montrose listed in
WITH
THE COLORS WWI listings under Military.
- I am in the process of moving lock, stock and barrel from Tulsa
to Houston. Should be settled in new house by first week of
November!

March 2003
- Got the Postcards page started.
This is a little different from the
Looking Back section or the
Colorado Photos page. Looking Back is more for
photographs, programs and mementos. Postcards will be
actual postcards that are in your collection. I have started
the page with postcards from my own collection. (I have a BUNCH,
takes a while to scan them). Send your pictures OR postcards
in and share with others.
January 2003
- Military; WWI Draft
Registrations Your ancestor might not have served in WWI, but
did he register? Check here for the names.

Supposed to be lots of pictures. Just waiting for it to arrive
in the mail!

First Quarter 2002 -
- Cool articles from The Montrose Daily Press Oct 1944. Take
a look (click here).
- Adding a whole new section for Obituaries (or Obits).
These can be old, or new ones. Do you have a newspaper

that lived in Montrose County? It's up to you to get them
submitted.
- ABSTRACT OF ASSESSMENT (Tax
List) 1883 Montrose County, Colorado.
- Added a place for you to submit your URL along with your
surname. If you already have a
surname registered, check it to see if the information is
current, and send an update if you need to. ( I'll also update the
date, so that other folks know that you are still interested).
- Found some new links, and added them to the
Links page.
- I've added quite a few obit transcriptions this month from
earlier in the year. Will work hard to get caught up with
those.
