The Swedish Genealogical Society of Colorado (SGSC) was organized in April of 2007. Since that day we have grown to over 80 members. This enthusiastic group meets monthly at the Denver Public Library at 14th and Broadway and welcomes interested family historians and new members.
Kjell Andersson under the auspices of the Society offers 'coaching sessions' to help members resolve problems encountered in their search for and documentation of ancestors in Sweden. From time to time these helps will be presented here to show members what can be done using the tools available on-line and through the Society. Here is one presented to Kjell by Karlene:
"I am an SGSC member and would be interested in the coaching session on May 10. Below is one of my current problems in finding Swedish ancestors:
"Person of interest: Adolph Hagberg QUESTION: When and where did he die?
"Record of his birth: GID# 401.36.100000 – 1 March 1810 in Vadstena; parents Carl Gustaf Hagberg and Lina(?) Olafsdotter
"Record of his marriage: GID# 410.28.25200 – 7 October 1831 in Vist; married Greta Lisa Andersdotter
"Record of his wife’s death: GID# 410.29.48100 – 28 September 1851; Greta Lisa Andersdotter died in Vist
"Record of his second marriage: GID# 410.28.28900 – 4 August 1853 in Vist; Adolph Hagberg married Eva Lena Hagthorn (?)
"I cannot find any records for Vist past 1863 and I think Adolph Hagberg was still alive then.
"Thank you,
Karlene
