Where will your trail take you...? Summit County was one of the original seventeen in the state, organized November 1, 1861. As the name implies, it is a mountainous region, famous for mining and winter sports, home to four world-class ski & snowboard resorts. The elevation in Summit County ranges from 9,000 - 10,000+, receiving on average of 180 inches of snow each year.
