I have a Mary MCELLIGOTT, husband Patrick ENRIGHT. Family says they are from Ballylongford, Co. Kerry. Mary was born about 1820. Do not have a consistent age for her. Do not know who her father was. She died in Delaware Co. Oh in 1893 age given 76. There were at least two other McELLIGOTT families in Delaware Co. OH in the late 1800's.

I saw your request for information on McElligotts from County Kerry. There were many McElligotts in County Kerry and I don't know if they are all related or not. My great great grandmother,Johanna NOLAN, had two sisters that married MCELLIGOTT brothers in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Elizabeth Nolan married John McElligott and they and four children, John (b. 1840), Richard, Michael, and Johanna. They lived in the townland of Ballynaughty. Catherine Nolan married Richard McElligott and they had five children, Joann (b.1846), Patrick, Elizabeth, Edmund, and Michael. I don't know if any of Johanna's family other than herself came to the U.S.

My Grandfather is D'arcy Walter MCELLIGOTT from Lachine Quebec Canada. I (We) have been looking for years for any reference of my great-Uncle Robert McElligott, Who ran away from home in his Teen years. My grand-father was one of 11 children and all but 2 are passed on now, including my grand father. We have looked for Robert on and off thru the years, as cash would allow. It would be really neat for the family if there could be contact with any offspring of this uncle (or this uncle himself if he is still living. My grandfather would be 96 or 97 this year and Robert was younger than him.), if there is any, before the last 2 siblings pass away. Most of the family still live in the Lachine area except for us who live in Thompson and Chardon Ohio. My Father's name is Allen Ross McElligott. If you have run into any information reguarding this branch of the McElligott's and the missing sibling, would you be willing to pass it along? I know that my Great Grandmother searched the war records before she passed away but other than that I have no idea how far anyone has gone in searching.

I saw your posting for MCELLIGOTT and hoped to get a line on my great-grandmother. She was born in Ireland in 1846 as Margaret Alice McElligott. She came to New York and married Daniel George MORIARITY. After my great-grandmother Margaret Alice McElligott married, she and my great-grandfather Daniel George Moriarty left Forestville, NY to move to Marienville, PA. He was a railroad train engineer who was later killed in a train wreck. I don't know if they lived and met in Forestville or where they originated, other than knowing she was born in Ireland. Unfortunately this is the extent of my knowledge of her. Have you ever heard of either person? Thanks in advance for your response.
