He married Margaret Purcell in Ireland, bef 1850. Margaret was born ca 1833 in Ireland.

Terence Gaffney and Margaret Purcell had the following children:

4 i. Thomas³ Gaffney was born in Ireland or Pennslyvania betwen 1850/1858.

5 ii. Rose Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania ca 1853.

6 iii. Margaret Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania ca 1855.

7 iv. Bridget Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania ca 1861.

8 v. Ellen Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania ca 1863.

9 vi. James Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania 1865.

10 vii. Elizabeth Gaffney was born in Pittston, PA Sept 10, 1866. Elizabeth died Sept 17, 1914 in West Wyoming, PA, at 48 years of age. She married John J. Gaughan. John was born Feb 22, 1869 in Pittston, PA. He was the son of Martin Gaughan and Mary Kilday. John died Dec 6, 1949 in Wilkes Barre, PA, at 80 years of age. He was baptized in St John the Evangelis, Pittston, PA, March 20, 1869. John died Dec 6, 1949 in Wilkes Barre, PA, at 80 years of age. (See John J. Gaughan for the continuation of this line.)

She was baptized in St. Johns, Pittston, PA, Sept 24, 1866.

11 viii. John Gaffney was born in Pennslyvania ca 1869.
