* According to her sister, Edna, Bernice died at the home of her Aunt Louise Morehouse's farm in or near Lancaster, Wisconsin. Edna remembered being there (she would have been 13 years old) and having to carry hot water to the room where little Bernice was dying. * Louise's grandaughter, Catherine (Elskamp) remembered her mother (Esther, daughter of Louise) saying that Louise made the burial dress for Bernice. * Burial records are unclear at Mt.Calvary Cemetary - Bernice and her mother, Effie are shown as being buried on the same day. This probably means that Bernice was 'reburied' with Effie when she died 9 months later. Bernice is buried on top of Effie (a common practice).

*Edna and I have been corresponding by mail (and an occasional telephone call) for about 9 years, and in that time she has given me a wealth of information and quite a few family pictures to copy. I believe that she also enjoyed hearing about all the 'tidbits' that I've been able to pick up and pass along to her. She passed away earlier this year (28 April), and I still miss her. She was not only my aunt, but a dear friend. *In one of her letters she described her late husband, Rubin as a really special person - she said that "after God made him he broke the mold". *Edna was always a very active person, even up to the time of her death, she'd had her own garden (tomatoes, etc.) - she still did some hairstyling for her elderly frends. *Divorced Birner about 1926
