1. James1 Madden #623 was born in Ireland September 1845.

He married Mary McGovern in Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota, January 1869. (Mary McGovern #1296.) Mary was born May 1847/1848 in Ireland. She was the daughter of Patrick McGovern and Bridget Mullaney. Mary died October 1910 in DeGraf, Minnesota. She was listed on a passenger list in New York NY, August 9, 1848. Volume 3, p. 97 of Famine Immigrants, listed the following passengers: Bridget McGovern 30 yrs Spinster Unk McGovern .05 male Bridget McGovern 08 yrs female child Anne McGovern 05 yrs female child Catherine McGovern 03 yrs female child The ship's name was not given. It sailed from Liverpool to NY, arriving Aug 9, 1848. Also on the ship were Thomas McGovern, age 25 (farmer) and Rose McGovern age 20 (spinster).

Also, death certificate says 91 yrs in US - emigrated 1848.

She was enumerated 1865 in Rochester, Olmsted Co, MN.(289) She was enumerated 1865 in Salem, Olmsted Co, MN. She was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in in Rochester, Olmsted Co, MN. She was enumerated 1870 in Haverhill, Olmsted Co, MN. Mary died October 1910 in DeGraf, Minnesota.
