McGovern had the following children:

4 iii. Thomas McGovern #1285 was born in Ireland abt 1832. He was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Salem, Olmsted Co, MN.⁽⁴⁰⁰⁾ He was enumerated 1865 in Salem, Olmsted Co, MN.⁽⁴⁰¹⁾ In the 1860 census, he was living with John McGovern and his family, and next door to Pat McGovern and his family. Assumption is that he is their brother.
