He married Marianne Lethert in Effelsberg, Germany, February 4, 1953. Marianne was born September 3, 1926 in Effelsberg, Germany. She is the daughter of Johann Lethert and Maria Willerscheid.

Josef Linden and Marianne Lethert had the following children:

2 i. Rudolf² Linden was born in Scheuerheck, Germany October 13, 1954. Rudolf died June 4, 1984 in Scheuerheck, Germany, at 29 years of age.

3 ii. Anita Linden was born in Scheuerheck, Germany September 1, 1960. She married Walther Probson in Munstereifel, Germany, October 10, 1989. Walther was born September 19, 1953 in Munstereifel, Germany. (See Walther Probson for the continuation of this line.)
