Irish ancestors - County Roscommon

1. Edward Mullaney was a miller in Roscommon (acc. to his great granddaughter), in Co. Roscommon, Ireland. His wife was Honor Braidy. She eventually emigrated to the US to live with a son, William Mullaney in Sandusky Ohio (acc to family story).
2. Patrick McGovern married the daughter of Edward and Honor Mullaney, Bridget Mullaney in Ireland. He emigrated ca 1846-47 by himself and Bridget followed in 1847-48 with their 4 daughters. They lived in Ohio, Wisconsin and finally settled in Olmsted County Minnesota.
3. Bridget had a "brother William in Sandusky Ohio, a brother who settled in Berlin Wisconsin and a brother who had a son who became a priest (Fr. William Mullaney) and a son Peter who lived in Jackson, Michigan." (not sure if these are actually her nephews or brothers!)
4. Patrick and Bridget McGovern's third daughter was Catherine, who married a Patrick McGovern, son of James & Bridget McGovern.
5. This database contains their descendants as well as the ancestors and their descendants of both Patrick & Catherine.
6. Also in the database are other McGoverns and related surnames that may or may not be related. Most are from the area/areas that these McGoverns lived.
