This index has been compiled by Jacquelyn A Glavinick from various Weld County, Colorado directories; city, rural, county and also telephone directories and school directories. Some have been previously published by the Weld County Genealogical Society. Below is a description of each source used and where the original can be found.

In this index, column one is the name along with any additional information such as the address, both business and residence, just as it appeared in the printed source. The second column is the page number where that name appeared in the original source. The third column is a code for the source giving the year and directory.

Research in directories can be very beneficial to your genealogy. It can help you to place your family at a given location in a given year. Directories can give you additional information about your family. They will usually list the occupation of the person, their address, business associates, other family members and a lot of directories list all the clubs and organizations giving at least the officer's names.

In most directories there is a street directory also. This lists every address on a given street by house number giving the head of the household's name and the number of people at the same address by the same surname. If there is more than one surname at an address, the directory will usually list them all. This directory will allow you to find who is living around your relative. The street directory is not included in this database. Telephone directories do not have the street directory.

If your surname is not found in a telephone directory this does not mean they did not live in a given location. It may only mean they did not have a telephone. City directories list everyone on the street.

No attempt has been made to correct errors in original sources. Check for variant spellings of the name you are seeking.
