In the heart of Litchfield County.

Goshen is located in the center of Litchfield County, bordered by Torrington to the East, Norfolk to the North, Litchfield to the South and Cornwall to the west. In the early times of the town it was one of the fastest growing in what is now Litchfield County. The reason for this is that most people thought that it would become the County Seat for the new County that was going to be formed in the hills of Northwest Connecticut. In later years it's population was surpassed by Torrington, Litchfield and the village of Winsted in Winchester. Remaining small is what gives Goshen a lot of it's current charm as a typical New England Town.

Anita Schultz-Peters Has a copy of the Barbour Index of Vital Records to 1850 for Goshen and has volinteered to do lookup's for records in Goshen.

When I was talking with the town clerk in July I heard that there are some errors in the Barbour Collection for Goshen, but not which records.
